Palmetto Basketball releases their Fab Five players for the class of 2014. This is not a ranking but a listing of the top players in the state of South Carolina. The list is for the first part of 2011. The list will be updated on March 15th following the completition of the high school basketball season.

Palmetto Basketball 2013 Fab Five

Keith Pinckney

Pinewood Prep

6'0 165

The dynamic 6'0 guard will likely be a true point guard at the college level but has very good ability to score and carry his team. The starting point guard for Pinewood Prep last season, Pinckney will look again to play a major role this season both running the team and scoring. One of the quicker guards in the state of South Carolina, Pinckney also possesses above average athletic ability.

K.J. James

Porter Gaud

6'5 220

The 6-foot-5, 220 pound wing player projects to be close to 6'8 or 6'9 when he is done growing and will be a dynamic wing player with his size and bulk. Already a steady wing player, James is great at using his size to get into the lane and knock down jumpers and floaters while also possessing the ability to make the three point shot. If a smaller defender attempts to guard him, James is capable of getting into the lane to make things happen.

L.J. Peak

Gaffney High School

6'5 185

Maybe the best pure athlete in the class of 2014, Peak is still developing as a perimeter player but seems to get better each team out. A starter for the 2010 State 4A Champion Gaffney Indians and head coach Mark Huff as an 8th grader, Peak is great in transition being able to finish with style although he is still developing his perimeter shooting.

Tyreece Brice

South Pointe High School

5'10 170

Tyreece is a well built point guard for his age that does a great job of getting into the lane and being able to finish with contact or find an open man for a good look. The 5'10 rising sophomore will help lead the South Pointe Stallions this coming season under new head coach Melvin Watson a former point guard for South Carolina. Brice will play a large role for Watson as both a scoring guard and in terms of running the offense and getting his teammates in the position to score the ball.

Marcus Stroman

Keenan High School

6'3 175

One of the best shooters in the class of 2014, Stroman does a great job of finding open spots on the perimeter and knocking down the shot when given the opportunity. Stroman has played a large role in helping Keenan win back to back state championships under head coach Zack Norris. This coming season he will play both the point guard and shooting guard positions and look to bring a third straight championship home for the Raiders.
